Last November, 2017 grantee Cornell Coley produced "The Soul of Latin Jazz" in partnership with musician Kenny Kozol.
This year, Cornell, Kenny and Sandra Marcelino have formed a collective called Kecosa to present an evolved form of the aforementioned project called "Soul Synergy." They recently hosted their first workshop featuring music, dance and drumming with three master artists, Fomoro Dioubate (balapone), Missia Dioubate (singer) and Joh Camara (drums and dance), from Senegal in an evening called "Three Masters and You."
Cornell invites you to their workshops on June 2 & 9, featuring African drumming and hip hop poetry. For more details and to sign up, please contact: cc[at]afrolatin.net.
